@2 Another look at K9 And Company
===============================
@1
K9 and Company remains unique in that it is one of the only Dr. Who
spin offs ever made. Although there is only a single pilot episode
around it is still interesting to see how Terence Dudley attempts to
look at the Who phenonomum from an entirely different angle.
This original show stars Sarah Jane Smith around 5 years after
she has left the Doctor. Upon visiting her Aunt she finds her missing,
and also a wooden box that she has neglected to open for years. She
then finds that she has to look after a young realtion too.
It turns out that the box contains K9 Mark Three. The trio set off
on an epic adventure to stop the nasty goings on of a local group,
and in order to rescue Sarah`s aunt.
Sarah Jane Smith is played excellently by Elizabeth Sladen who
allows us to see her character from an entirely new direction. It is
also interesting to see K9 again, full brains on the ready!
Another feature to note on the show is that the theme music takes
an entirely different tangent from the one that Who fans might
expect. However I am not complaining, the tune soon grows on you
after a little time!
So in conclusion an excellent special that was worthy of justifying
a whole new series. However unfortunately the possible scope of the
program was rather limited, so it is no surprise that no other
episodes were made.
